One of the great things about fly fishing for panfish is it does not require a lot of fancy gear. A fly rod and a box of flies and a few simple tools is all you need for a great day on the water. My favorite way to travel light is by carrying a Yakoda Utility Pouch containing a few fly boxes, some extra tippet, maybe a spare leader (in case I snag a tree) and a few basic tools like a pair of scissor clamps (for removing hooks and cutting line) and maybe some floatant.
